Montessori Is A Nurturing And Holistic Approach To Learning
Established in 1972 S.K.H. Crown of Thorns Church Kindergarten is formerly known as ‘S.K.H. Crown of Thorns Church Kindergarten.’ Due to reconstruction work in Texaco Road, the Crown of Thorns Church was demolished with the building of the new Church completed in 2002. Soon after the completion, the kindergarten regained its role as a pre-primary institution, offering quality early childhood education to children in the region. In appreciation of Dr. Kathleen Ko for her support towards early-childhood education, the kindergarten has beem named after her husband. The transliteration「士德」has been adopted in its Chinese name, in which 「士」means scholars, and 「德」means virtue, to wish every of the centre’s children wisdom and high moral qualities.

On December 19 (Friday), the school will hold the Christmas Thanksgiving Worship and Celebration. Students are requested to wear light and comfortable casual clothing and must wear their name tags. Slippers, clogs, or lace-up shoes are not allowed. Students should bring their birthday bag, a personal water bottle with a shoulder strap, a snack box, and a mask case (if applicable) to school. *The school will provide turkey, cake, and fruit as refreshments for students who have paid the snack fee for the first semester. *Students do not need to bring snacks or gifts to school for sharing or exchange.
From December 15 (Monday) to December 17 (Wednesday), our school will hold the unit activity “Hotpot Fun.” Parents may prepare their children’s favorite food so that students can share and enjoy the joy of eating hotpot together with their classmates.
In order to help K3 students understand China’s history, learn about Chinese culture, and appreciate the national spirit, students are scheduled to visit the Patriotic Education Support Center on December 3 (Wednesday) and December 10 (Wednesday).
In order to help K2 students learn about Chinese food culture, students are scheduled to visit the Rice Culture Museum on December 2 (Tuesday) and December 9 (Tuesday).
In order to help K2 students learn about the natural ecosystem and become familiar with different animals, students are scheduled to visit Hong Kong Ocean Park on December 1 (Monday), December 4 (Thursday), and December 11 (Thursday).
